Never let it be said that the developers behind Hawken are anything less than ambitious. We know that the free-to-play mech shooter is heading to the big screen, but now we’re hearing bits and pieces about a live action web-series joining in as well.
The series will star Edi Gathegi (Armando from X-Men: First Class, Dr. “Big Love” on House), directed by Jeremiah O’Flaherty (art director on Gears of War), is in development at Warner Premiere and is set to make a splash sometime in 2013.
…what you’re seeing there is, pretty much, a follow-up to the live-action trailer Adhesive Games released earlier in the year. We’re not sure at this stage how it will tie-in to either the game or the film (described alternately as “Romeo & Juliet meets District 9” and “The next Star Wars), or if it will be a third story completely.
Hawken – the game – will launch on December 12th, 2012, exclusively for PC.
