Mark Spanel, CEO of ArmA II developer Bohemia Interactive is quoted as crediting survival horror mod DayZ with boosting sales of the original game. That was in May. In June, the phenomenon was brought to the attention of the BBC (Zombies help ageing title Arma II top video game charts). Now, more than two months after Spanel’s comments, the original game is still topping Steam charts, thanks in no small part to Dean Hall’s zombie-filled modification. The other nine games can just sit and watch, maybe battling it out for #2.
