Australia gets exclusive MoH Warfighter artwork

Just as we were saying about the Aussies being a little proud of their inclusion in Medal of Honor Warfighter, publisher EA has decided to show off the local SASR troops by immortalising them on a special edition, one-of-a-kind retail box.

Adding that air of authenticity, EA and Danger Close worked closely with a former Australian Special Air Service Regiment (SASR), meaning the stunning box art contains real gear and weaponry as used by Operators on the battlefield.

The news comes after the Australian flag flew high over E3, representing the SASR alongside the rest of the best: US Navy SEAL, German KSK, Canadian JTF2 and Polish GROM.

In total, there are 12 Tier 1 units represented in game, and each of those has six different classes to choose from, giving gamers up to 72 Operator options in multiplayer. Each class brings something different to the battle, as EA explains:

…the Australian SASR Point Man like all Point Men are known for surprise and speed, mandatory for the inherent danger of placing themselves in the first and most exposed position. They must proceed at risk with extreme operational awareness, which is why they carry a magazine of heavy hitters that will do 20% more damage than normal when loaded in the game. These Point Men also have the ability to call in an airburst mortar.

Just like in-game, the Aussies are not alone – localised box art is popping up around the globe, including Poland, who gets a helmeted GROM Operator on their copies.

We’re expecting a few more of these to show up in the coming months: Medal of Honor Warfighter is headed to Australia on October 25th, and to New Zealand (with the Australian box art) one day later.
