If The Sims 3 still wasn’t quite escapist enough for you, take heed: EA has revealed the next expansion pack for the game, and it’s bringing a posse of not-quite-normal citizens along with it. Expect werewolves, witches, vampires, fairies and …wait for it… zombies. Sounds a little Supernatural to me!
Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims Studio explains:
With a variety of deep and mysterious supernatural lifestyles to choose from, The Sims 3 Supernatural allows players to dive into powerful new gameplay that showcases a darker side of The Sims. This pack introduces a fresh perspective while maintaining the characteristic playfulness, humor and innovation of our studio. With The Sims 3 Supernatural, we are adding a wealth of rich creative possibilities, surprising new content and intriguing storylines to the world of The Sims 3.
These new creatures and beings are implemented into the game right from the very beginning, providing you with a bunch of new options in the Create A Sim tool. Adjust the shape of your fairy’s wings, the hook of a witch’s nose, or the hairiness of a werewolf’s chest.
…and these Supernatural Sims have their own new abilities, traits, skills and interactions – including a handful of magic tricks!
The zombies are a little different – they’re created by a special elixir, which turns unsuspecting Sims into shuffling, brain-hungry monsters. Kinda like Sims players, if you squint.

Supernatural is set in the new township of Moonlight Falls, which is packed with eerie, gothic decor (including the beautiful sliding bookcase!), but of course, you can take your new friends into any other town you have installed. Plus, if you’re particularly proud of your achievements, online sharing is enabled in much the same way we saw in Showtime.
And yes – there will be bonus Plants vs. Zombies content included in-game if you pre-order The Sims 3 Supernatural now. Pick up a peashooter or two and keep your house secure, or perhaps peruse the ultimate in creepy chic with a parking cone hats (or, perhaps, a screen door shield). More details to come when we get them.
