It seems that Rayman Legends is more than just a domain registration. Over the weekend, Ubisoft found itself backed into a corner after a video of the game-in-development was leaked online, with the French company admitting that yes, the follow-up to Rayman Origins is indeed in the works.
The company has still not officially announced the game, but a spokesman has explained that “an internal video” showing “Rayman Origins‘ sequel” has been leaked.
This video was intended as a purely internal demonstrative video, and in NO way represents the final game, the final console or their features.
This video was destined for internal production teams who often create game prototypes with work in progress development kits.
The video itself, posted by French site Gamekult, revealed more than just the game’s title. It also showed a number of Wii U-specific features, including NFC support so you’ll be able to play with real-world objects inside Rayman‘s fantasy locations. Items placed on the tablet controller coincide with those on the game screen (and those items even include Ezio from Assassin’s Creed in a bizarre cameo).
