We’ve looked at Prototype 2 before, when we had a chance to chat to producer Jono Lim about the game’s development. Now, as Radical‘s sequel prepares for retail, it’s time to take another look at the game – will the significant story changes rescue the game from the shadows?
Remember, that’s not Alex Mercer in the spotlight, with his tendril-arms and impressive extending weaponry. The tables have turned on the hero of the original Prototype, with our main man making his next outing as the bad guy.
Instead, these fancy skills belong to Sgt James Heller. His wife and child were killed before his eyes in the initial outbreak of the Mercer virus – and that’s something he holds Alex personally responsible for.
The game is out April 24th for both PS3 and Xbox 360, but if you want Prototype 2 on PC, you’ll have to wait – Radical has delayed that one until late July. Pre-orders are available now at all good gaming retailers – pop into your local and ask about the RADNet version of the game. (Unless, of course, you’re not interested in 55 pieces of game-changing downloadable content, absolutely free?)
