Reasons I should never take sick days: Crysis 3 was accidentally revealed yesterday through an entry on EA‘s own Origin website, which advertised the game as being available for PC and Xbox 360 (no word on PS3 just yet).
To the publisher’s credit, however, rather than refusing to comment on “rumours and speculation”, EA took a deep breath and ‘fessed up.
The best kept secret in shooters just can’t be contained. Stay tuned for more information on April 16.
The image features the traditional nanosuit we’ve seen previously in the series, but the choice of weaponry is intriguing: A mean-looking compound bow, a nice change from guns and grenades.
Crysis was always designed to be a trilogy, from the first game’s release back in 2007. Since then, we’ve seen the parallel story Crysis Warhead, and a number of mysterious trademark registrations, but it’s good to see Crytek finishing what it started – even if the next game is being developed alongside several other projects including new Homefront and some interesting iOS games.
Despite the confirmation from EA, the Crysis 3 page on the digital distribution network has been pulled: PROJECT NO LONGER AVAILABLE, it claims. Stay tuned, there should be more about Crysis 3 some time next Monday.
