Kid Icarus gets downloadable anime series on 3DS

You’re forgiven for turning to other handheld devices for your entertainment fix, but Nintendo wants to bring you back to the 3DS, with a new 3D anime series published via Nintendo Video.

The animations are created by three studios: Production I.G, Studio 4°C and Shaft Inc., and the focus is on Kid Icarus: Uprising, with six weekly clips set for release over the next month and a half.

Thanatos Rising sets the angel Pit against Medusa’s minions in a serious showdown.

Medusa’s Revenge looks at the Goddess of the Underworld, and her rivalry with Palutena, in a story which stretches from the ancient past into the present.

Palutena’s Revolting Dinner focusses on the Goddess Palutena, and how she copes after a great catastrophe hits her Skyworld home.

…and that’s just a start! These adventures – all in 3D – are set among the world of Kid Icarus: Uprising, and are downloadable through Nintendo Video.

Unfamiliar with the Nintendo Video service? It’s a way of accessing all-new 3D video content via SpotPass: Once you’ve downloaded the program from the eShop, you’re good to go!

All you need is an internet connection and new trailers, sports clips, cartoons and music videos will happily download to your 3DS – all ready for you to watch at your leisure.
