…but as great as those few things are, they’re not quite enough to make a killer game just yet. To reach that sort of level, you’ll also need an impressive voice cast. Surprise! Lollipop Chainsaw‘s got that one covered.
If you played Batman: Arkham City last year, you should be familiar with Tara Strong – she was the voice of Harley Quinn. Not too much of a jump then for her to cartwheel into the lead role of Juliet Starling.
Michael Rosenbaum, on the other hand, is best known for his portrayal of Lex Luthor in Smallville. This role may be more demanding – do you have any idea how difficult it is to play a disembodied head?
Linda Cardelleni (Lindsay Weir from Freaks and Geeks) joins horror fans Shawnee Smith (Saw) and Michael Rooker (Walking Dead, Slither) as the game’s supporting cast, while veteran actor Gregg Henry (24, United 93, Black Dahlia) plays Juliet’s father.
The game’s also a family affair for Gunn, with his brother Sean stepping into the role of Swan, Romero High School’s “resident Goth”. It’s okay, he’s an actor, having appeared before in Super and Gilmore Girls.
…and, of course, bringing a little musical interlude: Jimmy Urine, from Mindless Self Indulgence, playing Zed.

Lollipop Chainsaw is due out on June 15th for PS3 and Xbox 360, and tells the story of zombie-hunter Juliet Starling as she attempts to uncover the reason for a colossal zombie outbreak. Predictably, it’s not all smooth sailing, with undead rock lords determined to kill the chainsaw-wielding cheerleader, but what else do we expect?
