Don’t say we didn’t warn you: Bethesda has officially released the Creation Kit for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – packed, as promised with a delicious new High-Resolution Texture Pack.
The Skyrim development team are – predictably – a little chuffed about the new release, writing a super-informative blog about all the things that are now possible. There’s a crash course in creating mods, as well as details on best practices, plus an official wiki and a bunch of upcoming tutorials over on YouTube.
Here’s a taste of tutorials to come!
Of course, in addition to the Creation Kit (which would probably have been pretty fabulous by itself), there’s the all-new Skyrim High-Resolution Texture Pack, available right now through Steam… for free!
Keep in mind that because it is – like it says – a High Resolution pack, it has some pretty decent required specs: You’ll need Windows Vista/7, at least 4GB of system RAM, and a DirectX 9.0c compatible video card (NVIDIA or AMD/ATI) with the latest drivers and at least 1GB of RAM.
Got all that? You’re good to go: Head over and snag it right now, load up Skyrim and prepare to be dazzled.
