Sir Paul McCartney has long been known as a multi-talented fellow, and news has emerged that the former Beatle is about to add another string to his already-impressive bow.
While details are fairly slim at this point, McCartney has confirmed that he is composing music for an upcoming video game, and his rationale is a pretty simple one:
It’s a fascinating market. A new computer game sells so much better than a new CD these days. Young people will hear my music for the first time in a game.
McCartney’s music has already been introduced to an all new generation through video games: His life was immortalised with plastic guitars in 2010’s The Beatles: Rock Band, which he and Ringo Starr announced onstage at E3 2009.
British outlet The Express did not report on the title or genre of the new gaming project, keeping mum on the name of the developer and the identity of the publisher, leaving everybody guessing (and daydreaming the perfect collaborative scenarios).
