The lovely Milla Jovovich may have let the cat out of the bag nearly two months ago, but finally, Capcom has revealed what we all knew was coming: Resident Evil 6 – due out in November this year for PS3 and Xbox 360, with a PC version coming a little later.
We’ve got some details about what’s in store – the usual action / survival / horror blend – but rather than tell you all about it, why don’t we show you?
Promising to be the “dramatic horror experience of the year”, Resident Evil 6 is a first for the series – combining Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield together in the same storyline, one in the US and one in China. They – and you, the player – must work together to face an escalation of bioterrorist attacks.
Capcom’s head of R&D and marketing, Katsuhiko Ichi is pleased:
Resident Evil 6 represents a giant stride forward in the evolution of the series. The development team, led by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, is working tirelessly to deliver the most impressive Resident Evil title ever both in terms of scope and production values. We are all genuinely excited by the title and cannot wait to share it with the world.
The November release date for the game will – if the stars align – place Resident Evil 6 conveniently right next to the release date for the latest film, too: Resident Evil: Retribution is currently in post-production, starring Milla Jovovich in the role of Alice, alongside b-grade / tv actor Johann Urb as Leon Kennedy.
