If you’d been hanging out for next week’s impending launch of Gotham City Impostors, you’d be better off heading back to bed and sleeping for another few weeks, as Warner Bros and DC Entertainment have confirmed the game has been shunted back into February.
The download-only title, which should be all-but-finished now for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, drops gamers into a Gotham City unlike any we’ve ever seen before. The city is overrun by impostors, inspired by the Dark Knight himself – Batman – and his nemesis, The Joker.
“Inspired” by the Batman license, and designed to offer all-new, unconventional online multiplayer, Gotham City Impostors also gives gamers an opportunity to create their own version of the Bats and Jokerz who have taken over the city. Pick out your preferred costume, craft up your own gadget, and select your favourite weapon, whether it’s something traditional or a creation of your own design.
Gotham City Impostors is currently in beta testing, and has been receiving mixed reports.
