Skating fan gamers rejoice! Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD has been announced. Activision has taken the best elements from the early games in the Pro Skater series to combine them into one title coming to console marketplaces in 2012.
No more awkward board for you to stand on in front of your TV. It is going back to the old school, and the best, but also upgrading it for the modern age. Featuring some of today’s skaters as well as the old. Rodney Mullen, Eric Koston, Chris Cole and of course Tony Hawk, just to name a few.
There is also a lovely new trailer to show off the style of the game and some skate moves.
Tony Hawk expressed his opinion on the HD release of his franchise.
We’re going back to the core of what made the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games so popular, while leveraging today’s console power and online capabilities. We’ve updated many elements to reflect today’s skateboarding scene as well. Long-time fans of the series will appreciate the huge amount of polished content at a very low price.
The game looks good, it looks like everything we could want. There is combos, it has been updated to suit this generation of graphics and has a nice roster of skaters. There is only two things left to know, will we see the return of wacky guest characters/moves? And give me a soundtrack listing. The soundtrack to THPS 2 still gets played in my house and was the cherry on the top of a fantastic game.
