Command & Conquer has set a pretty high bar for RTS titles. One of those was the Generals series, although short with only one game and one expansion (Zero Hour), we will finally see a sequel from the 2003 game. What is more surprisingly about Command & Conquer Generals 2 is the fact that Bioware is leading the development.
While some people have put doubt into Bioware ability to make an RTS, when they speciality is RPGs, they still make great games. Don’t think they can do it? Check out the trailer below and see.
Bioware has kept to the formula of the three factions while bringing a new multiplayer modes. But Generals 2 will also have an “expanding array” of downloadable content. This is okay if it is kept to maps, expansions to campaigns and not new, unique units.
Command & Conquer Generals 2 is set for release in 2013 – 10 years after the original. Time to dig up my old copy of Generals: Zero hour and play until it is release.
