Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies invade iOS

…and if your mobile gaming wasn’t already covered for the next little while, Activision has also stepped up to the plate, with Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies, in the App Store now.

In case you hadn’t figured it out, the game is based on the Zombies mode from last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, which has been built from the ground up for iOS, thanks to Ideaworks Game Studio.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies

The undead on your iPhone

Promising an undead experience “never before seen” on mobile platforms, Black Ops Zombies includes the original Black Ops map Kino der Toten, plus 50 levels of Dead-Ops Arcade. Ideaworks has crammed plenty into this one straight out of the gate, but promises that features, upgrades and maps are in the pipeline for later updates.

Black Ops Zombies has also been enhanced with Voice Chat functionality, meaning once you get tired of playing with yourself, gamers can jump into a “true multiplayer experience” with up to four people.

Optimised for third-generation devices and higher, this one probably won’t go so well on your oldschool iPhone, but if you’re rockin’ an iPhone 4 or iPad 2, you should have no problems.

…always remember, download this sort of thing when connected firmly to wi-fi – the undead has a nasty habit of chewing through all of your 3G allowance.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies is optimized for 3rd-generation devices and higher, allowing for unparalleled graphics and performance on a mobile device. Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies is rated “M” (Mature) by the ESRB for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence and Strong Language.
