I love puns as much as the next person (possibly even more, depending on who that person is), but I’m going to attempt to avoid any wordplay or smart-aleck remarks so that this statement can stand on its own two red feet.
Apparently there are some gamers who aren’t aware of Dizzy and why this piece of news is so amazing. Dizzy is an egg, and one of the most popular European computer game stars of the late 80s/early 90s. Prince of the YolkFolk was originally released twenty years ago in 1991, as the seventh game of the core series (yeah, there were spin-offs as well – an entire Dizzy empire!). The game centres around the fabulous egg-man on a mission to collect cherries.
First released for Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, ZX Spectrum, DOS, NES, Amiga and the classic Commodore 64, Dizzy is now headed to iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
I’d like to pretend I’m not ridiculously excited by this news, but, upon hearing of the reboot’s existence, I may have squealed and clapped my hands, just a little. The most fantastic eggventurer of all time is back, with “gorgeous HD graphics”. You’ll be able to pick him up on December 9th.
