Taking the Online Pass concept to somewhere new, Warner Bros. have used the technology to lock up one of Arkham’s most popular villains, Catwoman. In the upcoming Batman: Arkham City, playing as the delightful Selina Kyle will require an online VIP pass.
If you buy the game new, no dramas, the pass is included in the retail copy – but if you’ve picked it up second-hand, you’ll have to fork out an additional $10 or so to unlock the character.

The information first popped up in online streams of the game, which included the following text on the title screen:
Catwoman is a unique character with her own story, moves, and weapons. Unlock Catwoman by redeeming the 1st purchaser included in the game case or by visiting Xbox Live Marketplace.
Playing as Catwoman is not required to complete the game.
The pass unlocks four story scenes starring the character, as well as including Catwoman as a playable character in challenge mode. Without the code, she’s still included in the story, but you won’t be able to explore her missions.
It’ll be interesting to see how many gamers felt the skintight leather catsuit was essential to the Arkham City experience…
