Are you looking forward to pay day? No, not that pay day, I mean PAYDAY: The Heist, which was set to catapult its way onto PlayStation Network this week.
If you are among the many who are eagerly anticipating this bank-robbin’ caper, then prepare to anticipate some more, as Overkill Software has announced the game isn’t quite ready and needs a few more weeks.
The plan is to ensure “the overall game quality and potential score for all heist team members,” according to the PlayStation.Blog, which broke the news.
However, this does mean that if you haven’t gotten around to pre-ordering the game yet, you’ve still got time – the more who sign up, the more who’ll be playing on day 1!
Chris Sturr, Executive Director of Business Development at Sony Online Entertainment explains:
Your continued loyalty and patience with the game’s further development is very much appreciated, we truly believe your first heist will be worth the wait. SOE recognizes the demand for quality from PlayStation players and looks to meet this head on with the upcoming launch of PAYDAY: The Heist.
In case you took part in the inaugural PlayStation Network PLAY event, don’t worry, you will still receive your copy of PAYDAY when it is released, just like you should have this week. Nothing there’s changed except the date.
No new release date has been mentioned, but Overkill is aiming for “later in October”, so cross your fingers. In the meantime, head to the game’s official website, and don’t forget the rendez-vous at the set location later this month.
