Lollipop Chainsaw roars into action with new trailer

On a scale of peanut butter to chocolate, I’m not quite sure where Lollipop Chainsaw fits in, but I’m more than happy to try and find out. It’s the brand new game in the works from Suda51 and James Gunn, so you know it’s going to be a little bit special.

I mean – what else could you get when you combine the creator of No More Heroes, Killer7 and Shadows of the Damned with the man behind Slither, Dawn of the Dead and Tromeo and Juliet?

To help you make up your mind, we’ve got the brand new trailer right here for you:

Thrown together via Grasshopper Manufacture, we’re treated to the adventures of Juliet Starling, a zombie hunter-slash-cheerleader, whose job it is to hack through hordes of the undead. Officially, she’s trying to uncover the mystery of the zombie outbreak, but you don’t really need a reason for this sort of an adventure.

With her wickedly awesome chainsaw in hand, Juliet slices, dices and splits her way through hordes of the undead, but soon realizes the horde is only the opening act to a festival of zombie rock lords determined to kill the chainsaw wielding cheerleader.

Due for release in 2012, Lollipop Chainsaw is headed to both Xbox 360 and PS3, thanks to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
