Zombies. Love ’em or hate ’em, they’re definitely flavour of the month when game developers are concerned. Some say the trend started with the undead inclusion in Call of Duty: World at War, and it’s kept going throughout later games in the franchise.
Now we’ve learned about the next re-animated attack – Rezurrection, a new DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Yes, that’s a ‘z’, for ‘zombie’ – this one’s all undead, all the time.
The new pack will launch worldwide on August 23rd on Xbox Live (with a PS3 version to follow), and includes shiny, re-mastered levels of zombie goodness. Get into it with Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa and, of course, Der Riese – “the zombie factory that started it all”. Consider it a refresher course in the undead, if you haven’t been following from the beginning.
There’s also a brand new level – Moon – which, I’m somewhat delighted to explain, sees you fighting zombies on the moon. (We couldn’t make this stuff up…)
There’s also an enhanced zombie soundtrack, and a new Zombies Moon theme for your console.
Of course, the four remastered maps have already been included as part of the Hardened and Prestige editions of Black Ops, so if you’ve already got those, then the rest of the content is free. If you don’t, it’ll set you back 1200 MS Points.
Bit of trivia for you: Rezurrection follows First Strike, Escalation and Annihilation, meaning that if you line them up in order, the DLC packs spell out “FEAR”. Creepy…
