When you hear “post-apocalyptic action-RPG”, a certain image probably pops into your head. Your thoughts are inevitably painted by a particular colour palette, everything is grimy, dusty and – well – brown. Dangerous creatures lurk at every turn, all the trees are dead and dying, and your outlook is bleak.
Their interpretation of the world is lush and imaginative, full of colour, wonder and the sorts of characters we haven’t seen in games for a long time. The downloadable title is set to launch with the upcoming Summer of Arcade on Xbox Live, and was on show as part of the Warner Bros. booth at E3. While we were there, we caught up with Greg Kasavin, writer and creative director at the studio, and asked him to tell us a little bit more about the labour of love that is Bastion.
