Halloween pitched for PS Move, Wii, Kinect

Weren’t we just talking about John Carpenter? While the horror legend is gearing up for the release of F.E.A.R. 3, it might not be the only game he’s involved with, if a recently revealed pitch comes to fruition.

Carpenter’s hit slasher series Halloween has apparently been the feature of a motion-controlled proposal from Neko Entertainment, according Thierry Perreau’s resume. Thierry is the company’s Creative Director, and his [surl=http://www.linkedin.com/pub/thierry-perreau/12/5a7/429]LinkedIn[/surl] page includes the incriminating evidence (translated from French):

Halloween (from the film) for the Wii, the Xbox 360 (Kinect) and the PS3 (PS Move)

This pitch, spotted by [surl=http://twitter.com/supererogatory/status/81522361656025088]Superannuation[/surl], is part of Thierry’s work as a Game Designer and Concept Designer – a position he’s held since 2005. This means that it’s entirely possible the game was pitched, failed, and forgotten about well before we heard about it, but references to Kinect and PS Move suggest it’s likely to have been in the more recent part of that half-decade.

The Halloween films have historically been ridiculously successful, and hardcore gamers and horror fans have been crying out for a serious game to take proper advantage of motion controls.

Fingers crossed that this one comes to fruition – with the question on everybody’s lips: Will we be running around our living rooms as Michael Myers, or his potential victim?
