Yves Guillemot is like a proud dad, telling us how he – and his brothers – founded the company back in 1986, and he’s now seeing his little company turn 25. He’s so ‘appy to be here – and wants to thank everybody for their input – without gamers, they wouldn’t have become anything like who they are. As he says, it’s not bad for a company whose initial product had no arms and no legs!
That, of course, is Michel Ancel’s cue to enter stage right and show off his new baby, Rayman: Origins. It’s the perfect introduction to the afternoon.
Hosted by Ubisoft‘s Mr. Caffeine – Aaron Priceman – Ubisoft‘s pre-E3 press conference was packed with surprises. While Rayman Origins had been spoiled before the show, and we already knew about games like Driver: San Francisco, Adventures of Tintin, Rocksmith and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, we found out all about TrackMania 2, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and the “inglourious” new Brothers in Arms – Furious Four.
The big surprise of the show, however – hands down – was Far Cry 3.
