If you missed out on a ticket to BlizzCon, you’re not completely out of luck when it comes to games conventions this year. QuakeCon, the celebration of all things id Software and Bethesda has just opened for pre-registration.
And – while a lineup like that sounds pretty great to begin with, did we mention it’s free?
…that is, if you want it to be. There’s also a handful of premium passes – new for 2011 – where you can pay for some select extra privileges. All 200 of the “QuakeCon done Quick” tickets sold out like some sort of warm, baked item, but there are still BYOC Select-a-Seat passes available, as well as the Swag Pack which comes complete with all sorts of limited edition goodies.
BYOC Select-a-Seat Package – $20 USD
- Select and reserve the guaranteed seat of your choice in the BYOC area
- An official QuakeCon 2011 BYOC t-shirt
- A special art of RAGE mouse pad
Swag Pack – Cost $35 USD
- An official QuakeCon 2011 attendee t-shirt
- A RAGE Wingstick t-shirt
- A Skyrim lithograph signed by the team at Bethesda Game Studios
- A pack of RAGE, Skyrim, and Prey 2 zipper-pulls
Sound like something you want to get into? Head to [surl]http://registration.quakecon.org/[/surl] right now to register your interest.
If you’re not yet convinced, let me tell you a little more about what’s in store:
QuakeCon is held – as usual – at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas Texas, from August 4th-7th.
…and yes, you read right. QuakeCon is free for general admssion (and BYOC attendees), thanks to the on-going, generous support of id and Bethesda Softworks, plus the team of QuakeCon volunteer staff and a realm of event sponsors and exhibitors. Compared to some of the ticket prices you’ll pay to go to other events – this one’s a bargain.
