Live in Australia? Care about video games? Then the government wants to hear from you! The Attorney-General’s department published some draft guidelines for the Classification of Computer Games earlier this week, and now it’s time for you to have your say.
A new [surl=https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KZ6WR79]survey[/surl] has been released, asking you to select a multiple choice option (just the one!), and offer up to 1,000 characters of personal feedback.
This feedback will inform classification Ministers’ consideration of the draft Guidelines and in making a decision on the introduction of an R18+ category for computer games.
This information will then be presented to the Standing Committee of Attorneys-General in July, and help to decide whether or not Australia will, finally, receive an R18+ adult rating for video games.
(…and yes, the government has chosen to use a [surl=https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KZ6WR79]third-party site[/surl] for its survey collecting. Take a look at the [surl=http://www.classification.gov.au/www/cob/classification.nsf/Page/InformationCentre_ProposeddraftGuidelinesforR18+ComputerGames]Classification website[/surl] to verify that this one is, indeed, the real deal.)
Go, please. Fill it out. Let them know what you think. Now!
