Nobody’s quite sure what Japanese developer Hideo Kojima has been working on recently, but if his [surl=https://twitter.com/HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN]Twitter account[/surl] is to be believed, it may have just been cancelled.
The high-profile developer is generally enthusiastic and positive in his social networking interactions, but this week has seen a [surl=https://twitter.com/HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN/status/72824827538444289]darker[/surl] [surl=https://twitter.com/HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN/status/72826101772201985]tone[/surl], on both his [surl=https://twitter.com/Kojima_Hideo]Japanese account[/surl], and through his English translator.
I cannot bear, and cannot be positive.
What I prepared minutely spending a year became meaningless.
Kojima-san is best known for the Metal Gear Solid series – and was confirmed to be working on two more titles in the franchise: Metal Gear Solid: Rising and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D. We’re not saying it’s necessarily either of these two which have been axed (if anything has been scrapped, there’s been no formal announcement yet either).
Another rumoured project was a collaboration with Suda51 from Grasshopper Manufacture.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one, and as soon as we get any updates, we’ll share.
