Planking: Now in video game form

Planking is all Australia’s fault, and for that, we are truly sorry. The art, or sport, of planking, is the action of lying very still, face down, typically in unusual and public places.

Over the past two weeks, this internet craze has swept first the nation, then the globe, with widespread mainstream media coverage. Police, authorities and even the Prime Minister of Australia have warned against the “dangers” of planking.

…and now it’s a video game.

Australian developer N3V has created [surl=]Plank’d[/surl], a Flash game based on the sport of extreme lying down.

Take it to the streets and show the world what you’ve got by finding the best plank spots and comboing into other planks, and then combo again for massive respect! Plank the cars. Plank the trains. Plank every damn thing you can see. Tumble through the air, score big and plank your way into the history books (or at least into our online leaderboard).

Right now, it’s just an online browser game with an interesting mechanic and lacking a bit of polish. But soon, it will be a mobile game, with versions for Android and iOS currently in the works.

Does what it says on the tin

Does what it says on the tin

I predict this will lead to all sorts of meta-activities – now you can plank while you plank!
