5 E3 2011 floor plans revealed

As E3 2011 draws ever-closer, we’re getting a better picture of who’s going to be in attendance and just what they’ll be showing off.

Today’s big reveal is the floor plans for the event – and, just like previous years, it’s HUGE. Both the South and West Halls of the LA Convention Center are just about fully booked, and there’s a bunch of additional meeting rooms and other fun stuff scattered around, too.

If you’re not able to make it, poke around the maps and plot out how you’d be spending your days. If, of course, you are planning on being in Los Angeles from June 7-9, then this is probably a very helpful piece of information.

Head over to the well-titled Map Your Show website and click around, marvelling at all the zoomy graphics and helpful captions.

As in previous years, West Hall is dominated by Sony and Nintendo, while Microsoft is setting up shop in the South Hall, directly behind EA‘s prime position.

All the other usual suspects are there lurking about – Ubisoft, Take-Two (who have a nice spot tucked away in the corner), Square Enix, Disney Interactive Studios (with a surprisingly large booth), and – in case you were wondering – yes, Activision will be making an appearance this year. No Bungie and no Blizzard though, of course.

Personally, I like perusing the smaller booths to see which gems might be hidden away in the depths. Robot Entertainment is one on my must-see list, despite its blink-and-you’ll-miss-it size and location. Great things come in small packages, and anyone calling their debut game Orcs Must Die! has to be cool, right?

The larger picture also includes information on the Into The Pixel art exhibition on the Concourse Level, and – importantly – the E3 merchandise store. Of course.
