All of these new motion-sensing gaming peripherals have lead to a significant increase in the number of titles promoting the unusual combination of weight loss through playing games. Most of these games – from the original Wii Fit to the latest Zumba Fitness feature all sorts of interesting challenges that see gamers competing against themselves, or an animated team-mate. You are encouraged to beat the computer, but sometimes that just isn’t enough.
…and this is where the newest DLC for Kinect Sports comes in. The shiny new Calorie Challenge add-on for the Xbox 360 game inserts ‘enemies’ that you’ll really want to beat.
Enter the Avatar Calorie Rivals: Peppy Pizza, Supersonic Soda, Steady Celery and their friends.
Each food mascot, from banana to chocolate, represents a calorie goal for gamers to burn off in a set time period, by working through a series of challenges.
“Kinect Sports: Calorie Challenge” Calorie Rivals
· Steady Celery (25 calories)
· Blazing Banana (92 calories)
· Supersonic Soda (133 calories)
· Mighty Milk (198 calories)
· Peppy Pizza (302 calories)

The Calorie Challenge pack for Kinect Sports will be available via Xbox LIVE starting April 29th, for 320 Microsoft Points. It will also unlock 250 new Achievements Points and two shiny new Avatar Awards. Plus, y’know, think of the stress relief as you beat the living daylights out of that piece of chocolate in a Boxing match. Race it out against Supersonic Soda in some Track & Field exercises… but make sure you don’t undo all your good work with a post-workout treat!
