Telltale Games: Not good enough for Scott Pilgrim

Telltale Games are currently flavour of the month, announcing about a million new games over the weekend – but it seems that their Midas touch doesn’t extend to everything.

Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley has explained that the developer contacted him a while ago, asking if they could work on the game which turned out to be Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game. Bryan said [surl=!/radiomaru/status/38766072299520000]no[/surl].

Telltale wanted to do Scott Pilgrim but I said no. I couldn’t see it as an adventure game. All respect to them, though

Instead, Scott, Ramona and the gang were designed into a retro, side-scrolling beat-em-up, which admittedly suited them perfectly. (Take a look at the game’s pixel art!) We can’t help but wonder what the Telltale treatment would have created, however…

But it’s okay. If you need a Telltale fix, you’ve got a variety to choose from – the developer’s just released the teaser for Jurassic Park.

And they’ve also announced The Walking Dead, Fables, Puzzle Agent 2, Hector: Badge of Carnage and the super-awesome reboot of King’s Quest. So it’s not like they won’t be busy and we won’t be spoiled for choice. But still, we wonder.
