Valve would like to wish you all a very happy Valentine’s Day – and they’re showing their affection via Portal 2. In a display of generosity unlike any we’ve seen before, the trained monkeys are offering you a trio of gorgeous gifts – and we can assure you that, unlike the cake, this is not a lie.
They’ve also sent over a handy collection of Valentine’s Day cards – a perfect last-minute gesture for the gamer in your life.
…and, possibly even more exciting than the video and the cards: Valve have just announced that retailers around the world – including Steam – have opened pre-order reservations for Portal 2, one of the most eagerly-anticipated games of 2011.
There are also various pre-order offers available around the world, including a discounted price and/or exclusive in-game content (like in-game skins for Atlas and P-body) for those gamers who reserve the game before it hits shelves in mid-April. Make sure you check with your local gaming emporium to find out what’s on offer.
Doug Lombardi, vice president of marketing at Valve explains:
“Portal 2 is shaping up to be the most innovative title in Valve’s history, and to be a much larger experience than we originally planned. As such, we are aggressively promoting the title with more retail promotions than we have put behind any prior release.”
Using wits more than weaponry, this highly-anticipated sequel promises a mind-twisting experience, set in a “funhouse of diabolical science”. GLaDOS is back, but this time you’re not alone.
Portal 2 is released around the world during the week of April 18, 2011 – for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac.
