Sony want you! Specifically, they want you to be in Resistance 3 when it launches later this year. And they don’t mean that in some metaphorical sense – they’ve just launched a new competition that gives gamers the opportunity to be “immortalised in video game history”, as a survivor character appearing in-game.
Have you got what it takes to withstand the epic battle against the Chimera?
The prize up for grabs is pretty epic – an all-expenses paid trip to San Diego, where you’ll hang out with the Resistance 3 development team for a day. They’ll take some pictures of you, and you’ll have to sit very still for a full 3D head scan. Once they’ve got your digital likeness, the Insomniac team will play around with it a bit and create your battle-scarred likeness that will appear in the game.
…and it doesn’t end there. After you’ve been captured, you’ll be able to check out the game before anybody else! (Don’t worry, you’re not alone – the prize also lets you take a friend with you to California.)
So. You’ve got to be in it to win it, so head to the Get in the game with Resistance 3 competition page and sign up. The competition is open to residents of Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Russia, and the United Kingdom.
You’ll need to upload a photo of yourself “looking like you’re in the middle a Resistance-style battle, or like you’ve just survived one – the more props the better!”
Of course, they’re not giving away something for nothing, you’ll also have to explain – in less than 1,000 characters – why you deserve to be a Resistance 3 survivor.
The winners will be hand-picked by Insomniac Games, and ten finalists will be showcased around Europe on the PlayStation Blog. Be quick though, you’ve only got a month – the competition closes March 8th, 2011!
