Everybody’s been bursting with anticipation following the announcement that Electronic Arts would finally officially reveal Battlefield 3 at the event, so it looks like the Swedish studio’s new project may be trying to slip under the radar.
Starbreeze created two Chronicles of Riddick games as well as cult favourite The Darkness, before cancelling a Jason Bourne tie-in early last year. The studio currently lists “Project RedLime” as being in-development, but nobody’s yet been able to figure out just what that one is.
Rumours and speculation are flying, as the team has been linked to a reboot of the classic cyberpunk Syndicate, and I know of more than a few gamers who are likely to break their knuckles from crossing their fingers for that one.
Way back in 2008, EA and Starbreeze announced that they were working together to “reinvent a classic EA franchise” – and they’re taking their sweet time about it, as nothing has eventuated in the two years since.
