Mass Effect 2 rewards PS3 fans

With this month’s impending release of Mass Effect 2 for PS3, developers BioWare would like to welcome PlayStation gamers into the fold – and how better to do that than by giving them free stuff!

For a limited time, gamers who pick up a copy of Mass Effect 2 for the new platform will be able to download both the powerful M-490 Blackstorm Projector Weapon and the Terminus Armor set free of charge from the PSN store.

ME2 bonuses for PS3 gamers

…after the cut-off date of February 23rd, the Terminus Gear will be available as paid DLC, so it won’t be gone completely.

And in case you’re getting cranky that the PS3 is getting stuff that you didn’t, both the weapon and armor were available to PC and Xbox 360 gamers who purchased the special edition of the game.

Mass Effect 2 will launch for PS3 on January 18th in the USA, and January 21st in Europe – so while you’ll need to be quick to pick up your freebie, you’ll have about a month. Just remember, time flies when you’re floating around the galaxy… and you might also be distracted by the included DLC – Lair of the Shadow Broker, Project Overlord and Kasumi: Stolen Memory – or by reading Mass Effect Genesis, an interactive comic that’s been thrown in as well.

(Thanks to the Mass Effect 2 Facebook page for the info!)
