One thing they were constantly asked for is the inclusion of real cars… and, my friends, ask and ye shall receive! Real Racing 2 will include a range of officially licensed cars, shrunk down to fit in your iOS device.
So far, we can confirm that the 2006 BMW Z4 Coupe Race Car and the 2010 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R will be featured in the game – with the ‘Vette even sneaking into the icon for the new game!
No release date’s been mentioned yet, and Firemint are too busy to say much, but they have released a bunch of wallpapers for the game. The designs are available in sizes to suit PC monitors as well as iPhones and iPod devices – and they’re pretty easy on the eyes.
That’s not all the revved up news from the guys though – they’ve also confirmed that, with the looming introduction of Game Center for iPad and the upcoming release of iOS4.2, Real Racing HD will be updated with all-new online multiplayer!
This is one of the most major changes to be implemented within the game, which is one of the most popular titles in the iPad App Store. Carrying over the same great gameplay as the iPhone version, everything’s een optimised for the iPad and its larger screen – so it’s packed with detailed graphics as well as realistic controls and awesome gameplay.
When the free update is launched, it’ll be a case of logging into Game Center to compete in real-time four-person races. Invite your friends (and rivals), or be auto-matched to other gamers. This is an expansion of the current version, which offers local multiplayer races for up to six people in addition to head-to-head Bluetooth mode.
…and, um. Online multiplayer is coming to the iPhone too. Did I mention that?
