Play poker for in-game TF2 items

Telltale Games have laid their cards on the table when it comes to their new title, Poker Night at The Inventory – today revealing a collection of exclusive Team Fortress 2 items you can win in the game.

Who's in?

Scheduled for release later this month, Poker Night at The Inventory stars the Heavy from Valve‘s cartoon shooter TF2, alongside Penny Arcade‘s Tycho, Max from Sam & Max and Homestar Runner‘s Strong Bad, in a pretty intense game of poker – unlike any hand of cards you’ve ever seen.

So. How do these new items come into play? Simply put, the game features periodic “special rounds”, which see characters able to buy-in using unlockable items from Team Fortress 2. If you win, the items are yours to keep – and, more importantly, to play with in TF2.

What can you get?

  • “The Iron Curtain” weapon, for use by the Heavy in TF2
  • Max’s Lugermorph handgun for use by the Scout and the Engineer in TF2; and Max’s Freelance Police badge wearable by any player in TF2
  • Wrist watch from Penny Arcade’s Tycho for the Spy in TF2
  • Styling “Dangeresque” sunglasses anted in by Strong Bad, wearable by Demoman in TF2

As an added bonus, all fans who pre-order Poker Night at The Inventory from Telltale Games or through Steam will receive a poker visor for the Heavy.

Released exclusively through Steam (where else?), Poker Night at The Inventory will be available for PC and Mac in November, for a tiny $4.95 – you can pre-order it now.
