At this year’s BlizzCon, the biggest franchise was also the quietest. With the release date for WoW: Cataclysm revealed a couple of weeks ago, gamers are largely playing the waiting game until December 7th when they’ll get their hands on a ravaged Azeroth and come face to face with Deathwing.
We caught up with Senior Game Producer John Lagrave anyway, to see how everything was going, and to find out just how much the team is looking forward to finally unleashing hell onto their virtual world.
…it’s always lovely to meet people who still play – and love – the games they’ve been working on for years. John has been attached to World of Warcraft virtually since its inception, and his eyes still light up when he thinks about all the cool stuff yet to come.
(John also mumbled something to us that backed up J Allen Brack’s comments about a fourth expansion pack for the MMO, suggesting that the team does actually have a vague idea in mind about where they’d like the story to go – and it’s something quite exciting indeed.)
