Duke Nukem demo bundled up with Borderlands

Duke Nukem Forever

...guess who's back?

Gamers in Australia might be able to get their hands on Duke Nukem Forever next weekend – but they’re not the only ones getting a sneak peek at the oft-delayed shooter. Publisher 2K Games have confirmed that gamers who pick up a copy of Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition will also get an “early look” at the demo for DNF.

Due for release later this month, the Borderlands re-release will also include all four DLC releases (“The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned”, “Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot”, “The Secret Armory of General Knoxx” and “Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution”), as well as a key granting access to a “wealth of goodies” – one of which, of course, is the Duke.

Now – don’t get too excited. We’ve been pre-warned that the key will not unlock the demo immediately. All we know is that it’ll arrive some time “prior to the retail launch of the game” – currently scheduled for 2011. Take that with a grain of salt, perhaps – remember this is a title that was first announced in 1997, so release dates are more of a suggestion rather than anything set in stone.

Borderlands: GOTY Edition will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC very shortly, exactly the same platforms that will witness Duke‘s grand re-launch sometime next year. Convenient, huh?
