This time around, gamers will be able to battle the zombie apocalypse in four-player co-op gameplay, in a setting somewhere in the midst of the Cold War. Why? Why not?!
Mark Lamia, Treyarch Studio Head, explains:
“Zombies have been such a hit with our community that we were committed to bringing brand new zombie experiences to Call of Duty: Black Ops. We’ve taken extra special care to retain the essential ingredients of our Zombie game, and have also crafted a nice surprise for the fans.”
If that’s not enough for you, we can also confirm that four co-op maps from Call of Duty: World at War will also make their way over to Black Ops, featuring in both the Prestige and Hardened Editions as a handy extra alongside the Steelbook case, limited edition medal and exclusive avatar outfit.
There’s also all-new co-op – Multiplayer with Combat Training – up to six players ranking up as they battle enemy AI in a dedicated, exclusive multiplayer mode.
…if you can’t wait for the November 9 worldwide release date (for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PC as well as DS), then maybe you’ll have to pick up your iPhone and snag a copy of Call of Duty: ZOMBIES, which has just been updated with a new map release: Der Riese (Zombie Factory), an adapted map which first appeared in World at War DLC. The iPhone / iPod touch version of the game is available for US$4.99, and now features all four maps from the original.
