Call of Duty: Black Ops announced for November

Is anyone other than Activision doing anything in the games industry these days? In amongst all the lawsuits and signings, they’ve just found the time to announce the latest in one of the world’s best-selling franchises: Call of Duty: Black Ops is due to hit shelves November 9th.

Developed by World at War veterans, Treyarch, CoD:Black Ops will take fans behind enemy lines and deep into the “elite world” of Black Ops.

Mark Lamia, Treyarch studio head explains:

“We can’t wait for our community to experience Call of Duty: Black Ops.

“We have focused our entire studio on this game, with dedicated multiplayer, single-player and co-op teams creating the most intense, gripping and riveting experience possible for our fans on all fronts.”

…given that earlier Friday, news outlets were convinced we were waiting for the announcement of Call of Duty: Vietnam, what does this all mean?
