After Supergrass split, music lives on in Rock Band

This week we learned that Britpop legends Supergrass are calling it a day after 17 years. To commiserate the band’s demise, Harmonix and MTV Games are making their 1997 hit, Sun Hits the Sky available as a single track download for the Rock Band franchise. Woohoo!

Don’t remember it? It was the third single from their second album, the very lovely In It for the Money (not quite as good as their first album, but still pretty good!)…

“Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years – we still love each other but, cliche notwithstanding, musical differences have led to us moving on and of course we all wish each other well in the future.”

The ‘Grass are not the only additions to the Rock Band library this week, with old favourites Coheed and Cambria making a triumphant three-song pack return to celebrate their latest album. You can also pick up Peek-a-Boo, from Siouxsie & The Banshees‘ ninth studio album, Peepshow, or classic single American Music by The Violent Femmes.

All of these updates will arrive in the Rock Band library for Xbox 360 and Wii (April 20th) and PlayStation 3 (April 22nd), with three of the six available for download for LEGO Rock Band also.
