If you don’t care about all the romance stuff happening this weekend, then the guys at GOG have a deal for you. The classic Phantasmagoria has just gone on sale for US$9.95, in all of its beautiful 1995 glory.
When this “interactive movie” was originally released, it took up seven CDs, thanks to the inclusion of many real-time video files. Today, it’s somewhat easier and more compact to acquire, if you want to revisit some good old horror.
I feel its presence, the icy fingers upon my throat.
I hear its eerie sounds, unsettling my every thought.
I try in vain to slumber, my reveries gripped by violent terror. My only salvation, the shock of awakening.
Something is very, very wrong here.
One of Sierra‘s best-selling titles, Phantasmagoria caused quite some controversy around the world when it was released, featuring “troubling scenes”, violence, some intense gore and even a rape scene. Many retailers at the time refused to stock the title, with Australia even going so far as to ban it Down Under.
While it hasn’t dated all that well, Phantasmagoria is for “mature” audiences only. Please use your discretion.
