Welcome to Player Attack!
Okay Call of Duty fans, listen up. We've got all the details on the upcoming collector's editions for Advanced Warfare and the brand new trailer giving us a proper look at the game's singleplayer campaign.
What are you waiting for?
When it comes to picking up your copy of the game, you've got a few options available. Obviously, you could just grab the original, basic, stock standard edition, but where's the fun in that?
Activision and Sledgehammer Games are also making the game available in three different collector's editions: There's the Atlas Pro Edition, Atlas Limited Edition and Atlas Digital Pro Edition, each one packed full of nifty bonus content.
So. All three packs are inspired by the Atlas Corporation - that is, the leading Private Military Corporation (PMC) that exists in 2054 when the game is set. But what's actually in them?
All three versions include a new version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare map Pipeline, re-envisioned to take advantage of the new exoskeletons, and renamed as Atlas Gorge.
The Atlas Corporation has commandeered the world's largest power source, the Three Gorges Dam in central China, creating a gripping setting for a multiplayer battle. Combatants will navigate the shadows and control a map-based turret scorestreak that overlooks the dam and helps to keep enemies at bay, all while leveraging new abilities and tactics enabled by exoskeleton technology, such as vertical combat, new sightlines, and strategic vantage points.
There's also the Digital Content Pack, full of Atlas-themed in-game content:
The Atlas Pro and Atlas Limited Editions (that is, the physical copies) also have an "Advanced Soldier Manual" art book, a sturdy SteelBook case, and a copy of the soundtrack by Harry Gregson-Williams and Audiomachine.
But wait! There's more intel on the way. Mark your calendars for August 11, when we're expecting big news about multiplayer - if you're not overloaded already.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is due out November 4, for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC.
Please note: The information we've got about these Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare editions comes direct from North America, so things may change by region - check with your local retailers to make sure!
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
