[E3 2014] Naughty Dog co-founder heads to Oculus

Jason Rubin has done a lot of great things for the gaming industry since he threw his hat into the ring in '85. Not only was he responsible for co-founding the prolific studio Naughty Dog and directing classic franchises like Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter but he also stepped up and took on the role of president of THQ in 2012, even as the company slowly fell apart at the seams.

That's enough accolades for any man to retire on but Rubin's not done giving just yet! Announced today, Rubin will be joining another of gaming's veterans (or gods, in some peoples eyes) John Carmack at Oculus VR as the company's head of worldwide studios!

In his new position at Oculus, Rubin will be responsible for all of the first-party content developed for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, which is set to include content coming from studios in Seattle, San Francisco, Menlo Park, Dallas and Irvine.

"There have only been a handful of times in my life where I saw something that I knew would change everything," Rubin stated in a blog post. "The awe-inspiring tech Oculus is building is a portal into an incredible world that my daughter will one day consider to be normal."

This news coincides rather nicely with Oculus' presence at E3 this year, where they will be demoing their VR headset, The Oculus Rift, running an assortment of games including Eve Valkyrie, Alien Isolation, Lucky's Tale and Superhot.
