Just recently Sony announced their decision to bring PS3 critical darling, The Last of Us to PS4 in a remastered edition featuring 1080p resolution, a consistent 60 FPS frame rate and other visual enhancements. The announcement was a blessing for some (like yours truly) while other gamers expressed their ire online at having to rebuy a game for (almost) full price that is not even a year old.
Well Sony appear to have taken the feedback on board and are considering a discount for owners of The Last of Us on PS3. Naughty Dog's Eric Monacelli responded to a fan over on the EU Playstation Blog with this statement:
"We're looking into the business model for all this and will post about this once we have input from all regions"
How exactly this type of discount would play out, we don't yet know.
Square-Enix recently offered a free upgrade for PS3 players of Final Fantasy XIV to the PS4 version and that kind of goodwill goes a long way in today's games industry where customer satisfaction is often as important as the end product itself.
