The Last of Us Remastered for PS4

Well, it's not as though we couldn't see this coming. Still, we'll act surprised. Oh my gosh - The Last of Us is coming to PS4 this summer. I mean, this is like... so shocking. No one and I mean NO ONE could have predicted this one.

Ahem, now that the dripping slap of sarcasm is out of the way, I'm going to blurt out girlish giggles of joy.

In case you didn't guess from my "All-Caps" exclamation, I have a serious game crush on The Last of Us. There is every possibility it's one of my favourite games of all time. I know a lot of folks seemed to do a double take a few months after the games release and cry "Hyperbole". Not me though. For me, The Last of Us was genuinely one of the best games of the generation, hands down and potentially a pivotal moment for gaming as a medium.

So am I happy I get to buy and replay the game all over again? You bet your ass I am. I think it's a great decision on Sony's part to bring one of their most important new I.P's to their flashy new console. Will things change I hear you ask? What can we expect? Luckily creative director and writer of TLOU, Neil Druckmann, has tweeted out some details.

Also, the US Playstation blog has a whole host of info about the remaster - most of it very, very good indeed.

We know Naughty Dog are developing the remaster in-house and that they are targeting a steady 60 frames per second framerate as confirmed by Druckmann himself over on Twitter. The post  on the PS Blog confirmed that the game will run at 1080p and boast enhanced character models, lighting and textures. The enhanced version of The Last of Us is available for pre-order on the US Store for $59.99 (USD). It's worth noting that as well as the new visuals and performance enhancements the PS4 version of the game comes with all single and multiplayer DLC.

The Last of Us was already a stunning game on PS3 so imagine how it will look on Next Gen hardware.

So what do you think? Will you be buying The Last of Us on PS4? Have you experienced it already or could this be your first time slumming it up with Joel and Ellie? Is the price a sticky point for you and if so how much would you be prepared to pay for a remastered version with a robust set of enhancements.

As usual, let us know in the comments below and keep the conversation going. I for one, can't wait to see how good this already stunning game will look on Sony's new hardware.
