Welcome to Player Attack!
Blizzard has chosen to let gamers get a quick boost to Level 90, the new level cap. One free boost will be included with pre-orders for the expansion, but the company also promised it would sell the ability separately.
Now, character boosts have been spotted in the wild - before Warlords of Draenor has launched - and fans are shocked at the price.
An image shows that a Level 90 Character Boost will set you back US$60, well more than anyone had anticipated. It was spotted by WoW Insider staffer Matthew Rossi, who logged in between game restarts and found it on his game server.
On one hand, this is a shockingly high price for a simple boost.
On the other: Is it really that simple? The boost will possibly upgrade you from Level 1 to Level 90 in the blink of an eye, saving hours and hours of laborious gameplay. Is this just a way of showing how valued that Level 90 status really is?
Being so far out from potential launch dates, fans are hoping that this might be a test number put in for placeholder purposes, but Blizzard is yet to comment.
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
