The award-winning adventure of The Last of Us continues with the game's first ever single-player DLC campaign. Left Behind launched exclusively for PlayStation 3 on Friday - you're forgiven for missing it in all the weekend's fuss, but now you've got no excuse.
Described by some as the "perfect" additional content for the game, Left Behind follows the story of Ellie and her friend Riley, exploring themes of love and loyalty as well as survival - all of which featured strongly in the full game.
Neil Druckmann, Creative Director at developer Naughty Dog explains:
We wanted to dig deeper into the events that transformed Ellie into the fighter players were introduced to on her fateful meeting with Joel. What does it mean for two teenagers to survive in a world that offers little hope. How far will you go to save yourself? How far will you go to save the ones you love?
As a prequel, Neil warns that you "might think" you know how the campaign must end, but he promises "plenty of surprises and insights" into Ellie as a character.
So: If you missed Left Behind and you want to dive back into The Last of Us, you're more than welcome. The new campaign will set you back around $15, and is a hefty 5GB download.
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
