Want more FTL? Want on-the-go FTL? You're in luck! Subset Games has officially revealed new expansion FTL: Advanced Edition - and if that's not enough, an iOS version of the award-winning roguelike is zooming its way over to iOS in early 2014.
Some of the details you might be able to spot in that trailer:
At this stage, the game is only planned for second-generation (or newer) iPads and iPad minis - if you've got a different device or aren't fond of Apple technology, you'll have to wait. The two-man team behind the scenes explains:
For now, the answer is that we hope to get it on all tablet devices but do not know for sure. When we first released FTL, we did so on three operating systems simultaneously and it was a gargantuan task for a two man studio to accomplish. Learning from the difficulties of the past, we’re trying to preserve our sanity by focusing on one system at a time. Expanding tablet support will be our next highest priority, but we don’t want to make any promises (or rejections) until we’re 100% sure of the outcome.
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
